Using Chat GPT: the answer to writing your ad copy?
Heard of Chat GPT yet? A chatbot launched by OpenAI in November 2022, you can ask this chat bot literally any question and it will write the copy for you. Using AI for copy is big news at the moment and I think it could potentially be a game changer for marketers, writing social posts, emails and pretty much any writing really!
I thought I would experiment with this by giving the chat bot the two most asked questions I get from new clients: How much should I spend on Meta ads and how long should I run Meta ads for.
Here’s what I what I got:
How much should you spend on Meta ads?
It's difficult to give a specific amount to spend on Meta ads, as it depends on a number of factors, including your business's advertising budget, the goals of your ad campaign, and the competitiveness of your industry. That being said, it's generally a good idea to start with a budget that you are comfortable with and then adjust it as needed based on the performance of your ads. It's also a good idea to set clear goals for your ad campaign and track your progress to see if you are achieving those goals. This will help you determine whether or not your ad spend is effective and whether you need to increase or decrease your budget.
How long should you run Meta ads for?
It's generally a good idea to run Meta ads for at least a week or two in order to get a sufficient sample size of data. This will allow you to see how the ads are performing and make any necessary adjustments to improve their effectiveness. However, the optimal length of time to run Meta ads will depend on your specific business goals and the target audience for your ads. You may want to run Meta ads for a longer period of time if you are targeting a broad or difficult-to-reach audience, or if you are testing multiple ad variations and need more time to gather data. Ultimately, the length of time that you run Meta ads should be determined by your budget and the resources that you have available, as well as the performance of the ads themselves.
A few things to consider
It can currently only search information as far as 2021 so I think It’s worth doing fact checks before you post your copy.
It pulls it content from all sources on the web, so copying everything verbatim could be seen a plagerism.
Anyone can search what your searching so your copy could start yo sound very generic.
What’s my verdict?
Chat GPT is brilliant for writers block as sometimes I can be sitting for ages wondering how to write ad copy, particularly if I’ve had a busy day, the kids are at home or I’m feeling particularly peri-menopausal! Will I be using it for all my copy needs? I don’t think so, I really doesn’t take into account a personal tone of voice, but for structure and getting your flow going, it’s ace.
Check out Chat GPT for yourself and let me know what I should ask next!
