Donna Noble: Healing myself with Yoga
Hello and welcome back to season 2 of That One Thing! As you will see we've had a tiny name change as it seems to make us easier to find. Now without further ado, let me introduce our season opener and what an opener it is.
Donna Noble is a master yogic practitioner and founder of Curvesome Yoga, a place for people to enjoy yoga regardless of size, ability or colour.
15 years ago Donna was a very different lady, running herself ragged with a highly stressful job in the City of London that culminated with her contracting Bell's Palsy (Bell's palsy is a temporary weakness or lack of movement affecting 1 side of your face. Symptoms of Bell's palsy include weakness on 1 side of your face, a drooping eyelid or corner of your mouth. Treatment for Bell’s palsy includes a 10-day course of steroids, eye drops and eye ointment. Treatment should start as soon as possible.
Medical experts believe that stress weakens the immune system and damages the seventh cranial nerve (or the facial nerve) which causes facial paralysis.)
Through yoga, Donna initially allowed herself to heal and rebuild her life, on a journey that took her to LA and back to London, where she became a pioneer of the body-positive movement.
Donna is starting a 12-week yoga and coaching course this August 2020, you can find out more here: https://thenobleartofyoga.co.uk/
