How much should I spend on Facebook ads?

This is probably one of the most asked questions from Discovery calls and DM’s and really theres no simple answer. I’d often say “How long is a piece of string?”

Ad spend will vary for all businesses depending on the customer journey, price of their product or service, and the audience they are competing for. (ads for metal detectors may not be as expensive to run for a beauty product)

As a rule, Facebook advertising space is sold in an auction process, so the more you’re willing to spend to get a new customer, the better your chances of success.

When more businesses compete for attention (during the run-up to Christmas Black Friday, or during a peak sale seasons in any particular industry), the cost of Facebook ads will go up. You might find that age, location, and popularity of interests will also push your prices up.

The most important thing to remember is: you can get results on small budgets, depending on the business goals!
